FHP on the hunt for hit and run driver who killed Cross City man

A Cross City man reported to have been riding his bicycle on US 19, December 22, was hit and found dead at the scene by what FHP reported was a hit and run driver.
The accident occurred 1.9 miles north of Cross City as the cyclist was reported to have been riding south in the north bound lane.
Henry Thomas Kight, 71, was struck in the front with what FHP reports was the right front and right side of a pickup type vehicle.
After the impact the cyclist traveled onto the east shoulder where he was found expired, reported Corporal R. W. Howard of the Florida Highway Patrol.
Florida Highway Patrol is conducting a homicide investigation.
The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking information from the public involving this hit and run accident.
FHP investigators are asking the public to be on the look out for a Chevy or GMC pickup of the S10, C1500, C2500, or C3500 models. The suspect truck should have significant damage to the right front grill and right side mirror area.
The 2003-2005 model truck is believed to be a “stealth gray metallic” color that should have a bluish tint to it.
