Marijuana grow house busted in Waccasassa

A search warrant served on a Waccasassa home Friday afternoon led to the arrest of two Gilchrist County residents who were reportedly operating a marijuana grow house.

Richard B. Brock
Ashley M. Pollock

Richard B. Brock, 36, and Ashley M. Pollock, 22, were arrested and charged with maintaining a dwelling where drugs are used and sold, possession with intent to sell or distribute, possession of more than 20 grams of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and, since children were living at the home, the two were also charged with child abuse.
Weeks of investigation by the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force in conjunction with the office of the state attorney led to a search warrant being obtained for the residence, which is located at 8249 SE 69th Trail.
“The warrant was the end result of weeks of investigation into drug trafficking in the area,” stated Sheriff Daniel Slaughter.
“This should send a message to anyone involved with the illegal drug trade that it will not be tolerated in Gilchrist County.”
Officers seized cannabis, scales and drug paraphernalia, which were used to separate and prepare the cannabis for sale.
Bond has been set at $210,000 each for both Pollock and Brock.
