THS Homecoming will kickoff Monday

“Once upon a Homecoming” will be the theme of Trenton High School’s 2009 Homecoming festivities, which will get underway on Monday, Oct. 26.

Homecoming court representatives are, l-r: Caroline Whittington-9th grade attendant, Zeke Norfleet-5th grade escort, Syntonnia White-10th grade escort, Kyndall Williams-5th grade attendant, O.J. George-11th grade escort, Olivia Andrews-11th grade attendant, Bethany Dunn-7th grade attendant, Ashley Cribbs-12th grade attendant and Ashia Henry-8th grade attendant. Fairy Tales have been assigned to each grade so that students can decorate their classroom doos, hallways, rooms and construct their skits and floats. The class themes are as follows: Seniors-Snow White, Juniors-Aladdin, Sophomores-Shrek, Freshmen-Little Mermaid, Eighth Grade-Cinderella, Seventh Grade-Beauty and the Beast, Sixth Grade-The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and Fifth Grade-Alice in Wonderland.
Spirit days for homecoming week are as follows: Monday-Wacky Tacky Day (wear your wildest and craziest clothing items), Tuesday-Splash of Colors Day (wear your brightest colors), Wednesday-Blast From the Past Day (dress in old clothes from the past), Thursday-Theme Day (each grade will dress according to the fairy tale they were assigned), and Friday-Spirit Day (wear orange and black tiger attire).
Tiger Growl will be Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. on the Tigers’ field. At Tiger Growl, the 2009 Trenton High School Homecoming King will be crowned.
The homecoming parade will follow on Friday, Oct. 30 at 2:15 p.m. The parade route will begin at Trenton Elementary School and continue towards NW 11th Avenue before proceeding south on Main Street, where it will end at the Trenton City Park.
Pregame festivities will start at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30 and the Tigers will take on the Wildwood Wildcats at 7:30 p.m.
The 2009 Trenton High School Homecoming Queen will be crowned during halftime.
The community is asked to come out and support the Trenton Tigers during Homecoming festivities.
