Drag out the lawn chairs and picnic blankets on Friday afternoon and head to Main Street to watch Trenton High School’s 2010 homecoming parade.
The parade will kick off at 2:15 as floats decorated in the spirit of this year’s homecoming theme, “Don’t Get Board, Play the Games of Homecoming!” make their way from Trenton Elementary School down past the high school and along Main Street to the Trenton City Park.
According to Emma Kate Redd, reporter for the student government association at THS, students in each grade have selected a board game that they will decorate their float around and plan their Tiger Growl skit from.

King and Queen contestants are pictured from bottom to top, Alyssa McElroy and Wyatt Durrance,
Kayla Sinclair and OJ George, Taylor Langford and Daniel Perryman and Kaitlyn Wiggins and Tyler Brown.
The senior class chose “Candyland,” while the juniors opted for “Clue” and the sophomores selected “Life.” The freshman class will decorate around the game “Operation,” while the 8th grade students chose “Trouble.” “Mouse Trap” will be the float and skit theme for the 7th grade. Sixth grade students opted for “Sorry” and fifth graders will decorate around the game “Chutes and Ladders.”

Homecoming attendants are pictured front row: Emily Horlocker, 5th grade; Anna Seyez, 6th grade;
Sabrina Brown, 7th grade; Amber Holder, 8th grade. Back row: Malorie Whitley, 9th grade;
Asheton Sanchez, 10th grade; Kelly Tilton, 11th grade; Randie Johns, 12th grade.
As in years past, the student body has dressed in theme each day of homecoming week. There was no school on Monday, but students came dressed for Holiday Day on Tuesday. Wednesday was Hobo Day, Thursday is Theme Day and Friday is Spirit Day.
Each class chose homecoming attendants to represent the grade level. Attendants are: Emily Horlocker, 5th grade; Anna Seyez, 6th grade; Sabrina Brown, 7th grade; Amber Holder, 8th grade; Malorie Whitley, 9th grade; Asheton Sanchez, 10th grade; Kelly Tilton, 11th grade and Randie Johns, 12th grade. Homecoming queen contestants are: Alyssa McElroy, Kayla Sinclair, Taylor Langford and Kaitlyn Wiggins. King contestants are: Wyatt Durrance, OJ George, Daniel Perryman and Tyler Brown.
The 2010 homecoming king will be crowned during Tiger Growl on Thursday. Tiger Growl will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on the football field. Homecoming king and queen contestants and attendants from each grade will be introduced at Tiger Growl, which will also feature music from the band, and skits from each class.
The week of events will culminate on Friday evening when the Tigers host the Villages at 7:30 p.m. Pre-game festivities will begin at 7 p.m. and the 2010 homecoming queen will be crowned during halftime. The Tigers are 5-1 this season and the match-up with the Villages should be exciting as the Villages are currently ranked first in district 5-1A.
