Trenton man charged with engaging in a sexual act with a child

A 38-year-old Trenton man is being held on a $300,000 bond after being arrested and charged with three felony counts of engaging in a sexual act with a child.
David Aaron Mounds, of 507 N.W. 6th Street, Trenton, was arrested last Wednesday after he was found inside the Ventura Apartments in Gainesville.
With the assistance of officers from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, Mounds was taken into custody after Corporal Alex Gaston of the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office persistently sought his whereabouts.
Mounds was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Gilchrist County Jail.
According to a sworn complaint obtained from the Gilchrist County Clerk’s Office, Mounds allegedly sexually battered the child, who is a family member under the age of 12, within the city limits of Trenton on three or more occasions between July 6, 2008 and August 20, 2009.
