Lions, tigers and dogs oh my! Circus coming to town
By Carrie A. Mizell
An arena that typically draws cowboys and rodeo enthusiasts will serve as a big top this weekend as the Loomis Bros. Circus comes to Gilchrist County.

Sponsored by the Gilchrist County Character Council, the circus will feature a variety of animal performers including elephants, tigers, lions, dogs and horses.
Clowns, acrobats, aerialists and jugglers will also perform in the three show rings.
Shows will be held on Friday, Oct. 16 and Saturday, Oct. 17 at the FFA Rodeo Arena, which is located on US 129 between Trenton and Bell. Shows will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. and on Saturday at 2 p.m. and then again at 6 p.m.
Gates will open one hour prior to the start of each show. Elephant rides, pony rides, face painting and circus snacks will be available.
Proceeds from ticket sales to the circus will benefit the Gilchrist County Character Council.
