Bell Bulldogs prep for 2009 homecoming

“Do You Remember?” will be the theme of Bell High School’s 2009 Homecoming festivities, which will get underway on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

The Bell High School Student Government is asking students and faculty to think back in time and remember for spirit days that will be held throughout the week. Tuesday, Oct. 20 will be Families Day, while Wednesday, Oct. 21 is Cartoons Day and Thursday, Oct. 22 will be Teenagers Day. As always, Friday, Oct. 23, will mark Purple and Gold Spirit Day as students dress in the school colors to show their support for the Bulldogs.
Bulldog Growl will be held on Thursday, Oct. 22 at the Iris Roberts Auditorium beginning at 6:30 p.m. Admission to the event will be $1. There will be several skits and the 2009 Homecoming Prince and Princess will be crowned. Fans are reminded to arrive early as seats fill up fast at the annual Growl, which will serve as a large community pep rally to get the Bulldogs ready for their game on Friday night.
The following day a homecoming parade will be held at 1:30 p.m. Line-up for the parade will be at 1:15 p.m. at the corner of Hwy. 129 and Paris Street. The parade has become a highly competitive event each year. Anyone interested in taking part in the parade should contact Bell High School at 463-3232 for information on requirements.
The week of celebration will peak when the Bulldogs take on the Paxon High Golden Eagles. The pre-game homecoming ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday. The Purple Powerhouse Band will perform during the school’s homecoming court presentation and queen and king crowning. The game will get underway at 7:30 p.m.
