Nobles and Martin crowned royalty at BHS

Lacey Nobles and Stephen Martin were crowned Bell High School’s 2010 homecoming queen and king on Friday evening, just before the Bulldogs defeated a St. Augustine rival school in a heart-pounding homecoming victory.
In keeping with the homecoming theme, “Winning is an Obsession” the Bulldogs defeated the St. Joseph Flashes 29 to 21 after four action packed quarters of high school football. The evening’s win capped off a successful week of homecoming festivities as students dressed up for spirit days Monday through Friday.

This year’s annual Bulldog Growl, which was hosted by the BHS student government, drew over 500 people to the Iris Roberts Auditorium.
According to Brad Surrency, 2010 marked the biggest crowd ever to attend Bell’s Bulldog Growl.
At the Bulldog Growl, skits were performed by a number of the clubs and classes at Bell High School.
The junior class’ “Bell’s Got Talent” skit won the skit competition, with the JV Middle School volleyball team taking second place. Third went to the JROTC. With more skits than the growl has had in the past, this year’s growl was marked a great success.
Jesse Hunter and Adrianna Hodge were crowned 8th grade prince and princess during the Bulldog Growl.
Traffic was stopped on Friday afternoon as colorful floats and waving attendants riding atop flashy cars strolled down US 129 in the annual homecoming parade. The juniors took first place on Friday with their “Survior” themed float, which featured a large mountain. Second place in the float competition went to the Health Academy, and the sophomore class took third place.
Homecoming 2010 drew a number of former Bell High School graduates back to Bell High School on Friday evening. Many were clad in purple and gold as they cheered their Bulldogs on to victory.
