Homecoming ‘obsession’ takes over BHS

Monday, Oct. 4, kicked off Bell High School’s 2010 homecoming week in grand fashion.
As is tradition, each day of the week has been celebrated by a different spirit day, coinciding with this year’s theme, “Winning Is An Obsession.” Monday was “Obsessed With Sports” Day, Tuesday was “Obsessed With Music” Day, Wednesday was “Obsessed With Movies” Day, Thursday is “Obsessed With Reality TV” Day, and Friday is “Obsessed With Purple and Gold” Spirit Day.

Bell High School’s 2010 homecoming king and queen contestants are shown back row, left to right, Kyle Shepard, Stephen Martin, Logan Downs, Steven Woodby, Lucas Wilson and Orrie Roberts. Front row, left to right, Jennie Smith, Erin Tipton, Cassie Pridgeon, Brianna Bays, Janie Reed and Lacey Nobles.

Finalists for 8th grade prince and princess are shown back row, left to right: Jesse Hunter, Asa Marangoni,

The Bulldog Growl will be held on Thursday, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Iris Roberts Auditorium. Admission is $1 per person. This year’s Growl should be great, as more acts than ever have signed up to participate.
On Friday afternoon, citizens of Bell will line US 129 for the annual homecoming parade, which will start at 1:45 p.m. Every grade and many of the clubs at BMHS have been working hard throughout the week preparing floats for the parade in an effort to pep up the community before the big game on Friday night when the Bulldogs take on the St. Joe Flashes.
The 2010 homecoming king and queen will be announced during pre-game festivities beginning at 6:30 p.m. Queen contestants are Brianna Bays, Lacey Nobles, Cassie Pridgeon, Janie Reed, Jennie Smith and Erin Tipton. Homecoming king contestants are Logan Downs, Stephen Martin, Orrie Roberts, Kyle Shepherd, Lucas Wilson and Steven Woodby.
On Friday at 7:30 p.m. the Bulldogs will take the field at the “BoneYard.” The Bell High School homecoming dance will take place in the Bulldog cafeteria from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Only current BHS students in grades 9 through12 will be admitted.
The Bell High School Student Government is reveling in the Bulldogs’ 2010 homecoming; some might say, they are ‘obsessed’ with it!
