More than one local television will be turned to ABC on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m., as local residents cheer on Gilchrist County native Easton Corbin, who received three Country Music Association (CMA) nominations.
Corbin’s debut single “A Little More Country Than That” has been nominated for song of the year and single of the year. Corbin was also nominated in the new artist of the year category.
The nominations were announced last Wednesday on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
In addition to Corbin’s “A Little More Country Than That,” other song of the year nominees include, “Need You Now,” which was co-written by Lady Antebellum; “Toes,” co-written by Zac Brown; “The House That Built Me” written by Tom Douglas and Allen Shamblin, performed by Miranda Lambert; “White Liar,” which was co-written by Miranda Lambert.
Corbin will face off with Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, and Blake Shelton for single of the year. Blake Shelton’s “Hillbilly Bone,” Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now,” Miranda Lambert’s “The House That Built Me” and “White Liar” will vie for the single of the year, along with “A Little More Country Than That.”
A 2000 graduate of Trenton High School, Corbin moved to Nashville to follow his dream of being a country music star shortly after graduating from the University of Florida. Though he co-wrote three tracks on his self-titled debut album, Corbin remains humble.
