Film crew from BBC network visits Hart Springs

A film crew from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) visited Gilchrist County last Thursday to film a segment called “The Naked Earth” at Hart Springs.
Richard Hammond from BBC’s “Top Gear” narrated the segment, which included divers in the spring cave system and a tracker on land following the divers through the park.

Local diver Jill Heinerth worked with the BBC team. A High Springs resident, Heinerth is considered a true explorer, as well as an award-winning filmmaker. Heinerth wrote, produced and appeared in “Water’s Journey,” a PBS documentary series that takes viewers on travels through the world’s greatest water systems. Heinerth chronicles her adventures on her website: www.intotheplanet.com.
Trenton High School’s varsity volleyball team staged a game on the sand court at Hart Springs for the segment; and local students Brock, Brandon, and Dawson Stone, as well as Dallas Creamer, played croquet and basketball.
“The Naked Earth” segment featuring Hart Springs and a number of local residents is expected to air in April on BBC America and Discovery Channel.
