Co-op will break ground on new 30,000 sq. ft. office
Central Florida Electric Cooperative will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, Sept. 19 commemorating the start of construction on a 30,000 sq. ft. office building.
Gray Construction Services, Inc. of Trenton had the winning bid on the project, which will be constructed on County Road 341, north east of Chiefland.
The single-story brick structure should be completed within 10 months, explained Todd Gray of Gray Construction Services.
“I think this project is going to be very positive for the local economy,” Gray said on Tuesday.
The contractor said he plans to buy products locally to complete the project. Local contractors will also be utilized, from clearing the land to pouring the asphalt in the parking lot.
“It’s a tremendous job,” Gray said.
