Teenager arrested for break-in at Country Quick Stop

A 17-year-old Gilchrist County resident was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with breaking into the Country Quick Stop convenience store in Bell.
Tyler Austin Gray has been charged with two counts of burglary, one count of felony criminal mischief, one count of possesion of burglary tools, one count of resisting with violence and one count of battery on a law enforcement officer.
According to Major Tony Smith of the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office, citizens helped deputies with the case. Smith reported that one citizen called 911 and reported the store being robbed and later dispatch received a second 911 call from a Bell resident saying there was a suspicious person going inside a vacant home on Myrtle Street.
The robbery occured around 4:30 on Tuesday morning, when the suspect reportedly broke the glass on the front door of the Country Quick Stop.
While deputies were working the first call at the Country Quick Stop they were summoned to the vacant home on Myrtle Street where Gray was found along with a blue pickup truck.
Gray was detained for questioning while investigators watched surveilance video taken from the store. The juvenile’s clothing matched the clothing of the suspect shown on the video and a substantial amount of cash was found on Gray.
At press time, Gray was being held at the Gilchrist County Jail.
