Bell student named rodeo ‘Rookie of the Year’

Jacob Hoffman, a 9th grade student at Bell High School, was recently awarded the Gist Silversmiths “Rookie of the Year” award at the Florida Provincial High School Finals Rodeo held in Okeechobee, Florida on June 18-21.
Gist Silversmiths of Placerville, California initiated the “NHSRA Rookie of the Year” awards program eight years ago as a way to recognize outstanding first year high school rodeo athletes.
“The NHSRA is very proud to have Gist Silversmiths as a national corporate partner. It is the sponsorship support that the NHSRA receives from its valuable corporate partners that allows it to assist with the development of dedication, leadership, responsibility, and commitment in today’s young people,” explains NHSRA Executive Director Kent Sturman.
“Youth are not only the future of the equine business but also the future of this great country. There isn’t a finer group of young people than those represented by the members of the National High School Rodeo Association. It is a pleasure for Gist Silversmiths to be able to make this “Rookie of the Year” awards program available,” adds Jennifer Folsom, President of Gist Silversmiths.
