By Carrie A. Mizell

The Trenton Police Department is currently looking for an African American man who is believed to have robbed the Smokers Express convenience store in Trenton just before 2 a.m. on Saturday, July 3.
Trenton Police Chief Billy Smith explained that the Smokers Express has been robbed numerous times by thieves toting firearms, but this robbery marks the first time someone has threatened violence during a robbery while holding a table leg.
Smith indicated that he is currently reviewing surveillance camera video taken during the robbery. While he has no suspects, Smith said he does know the man in question is an African American who had a t-shirt wrapped around his head when he entered the store, demanding money from the clerk.
No one was injured in the robbery, which garnered the thief $125 in cash.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Trenton Police Department at (352) 463-4010.
