109 children attend summer reading program

One hundred nine children and 60 parents arrived at Trenton Library to kick off the 2011 “One World, Many Stories” summer library reading program last Thursday. Each child received a t-shirt and a reading journal so they can log their reading for the four-week program.

Under the direction of Jennifer Geiger, the first week of the summer program featured a puppet show, music, snacks and special guest Kaye Byrnes from Kaye Byrnes Storytelling, generously provided by Trenton’s Ameris Bank.
“Kaye’s unique and very clever performance had the children participating in a fast paced, high energy show,” Geiger said. “The kids just loved it!”
The fun continues at 10:30 a.m. every Thursday in June at Trenton’s library.
