Faculty and staff at Trenton High School are proud to introduce and congratulate the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2010.
Trenton High School’s valedictorian is Peter Crane, son of Robin Crane of Bell and the late Joseph E. Crane, Jr. Peter will graduate with a grade point average of 98.5.
While attending Trenton High School, Peter has been actively involved in the Trenton Tiger Marching Pride Band from 2004-2010. He has been a section leader, band class president, band captain and most recently, drum major during the 2009-2010 season.
Additionally, Peter is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Tri-M Music Honor Society and Drama Club. Peter performed in several live productions while in high school including, Oklahoma! in 2006, Fiddler on the Roof in 2007 and Bye Bye Birdie in 2008.
As a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Peter has earned the distinguished rank of Life Scout through his involvement with Troop 126.

Peter recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lake City Community College with his Associate’s degree. He has been accepted at the University of South Florida College of Music, where he will major in horn performance. He has already been accepted into the University of South Florida Honor College. In 2011, Peter will begin serving a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Trenton High School’s salutatorian is Racheal Rene Harrison, daughter of Kenneth and Julie Harrison of Trenton. Racheal will graduate with a 96.3 grade point average.
While attending Trenton High School, Racheal has consistently maintained an A average. She is a member of the Beta Club and been named to “Who’s Who Among American High School Students.” She’s also a member of the Future Farmers of America, Future Educators of America, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
As a member of the Florida Junior Brahman Association and the Gilchrist County Junior Cattlemen’s Association, Racheal enjoys showing cows. Her other hobbies include reading, sewing and scrapbooking.
A member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Racheal works in the church nursery. She also volunteers as a tutor and works on road clean-up.
In the future, Racheal plans to attend the University of Florida, majoring in Elementary Education.
Bell High School’s graduating class of 2010 would like to introduce and congratulate two of their own, who have been selected as valedictorian and salutatorian based on their outstanding academic achievement.
Bell High School’s valedictorian is Kristen Lagasse Burke, daughter of Dermot Burke and Elaine Lagasse of Bell. Kristen will graduate with a 99.3 grade point average.
While attending Bell High School, Kristen has been actively involved in the Bell Purple Powerhouse Marching Band, Symphonic Band and Jazz Band. A talented musician, Kristen plays both the saxophone and bassoon. She has also been a member of the Bell High School Hi-Q Team from 2005 to 2010. As a varsity captain during her senior year, Kristen led the team to a 6-1 record and a district championship win. Kristen has also been involved in Beta Club and Bell High School’s Tri-M Music Honors Society.
Kristen has logged over 200 volunteer hours as a secretarial assistant at the Lake City Veterans Hospital.
When she has spare time, Kristen enjoys relaxing and spending time with her family and friends.
Kristen plans to attend the University of Florida, where she hopes to major in biology with a minor in music performance on bassoon. She has already been accepted into the University of Florida Honors Program. Once she has completed her bachelor’s degree at UF, Kristen hopes to enter medical school and one day, become a surgeon.
Bell High School’s salutatorian is Kailyn Christina Waldron, daughter of Mark and Katrina Havelock of Bell and Gregg and Melissa Waldron of Cross City. She will graduate with a 97.9 grade point average.
While attending Bell High School, Kailyn has been in the Criminal Justice Academy for four years, serving as president during her senior year. She has also been a member of Students Working Against Tobacco for two years and Fellowship of Christian Athletes for three years.
A member of Priscilla Baptist Church, Kailyn revels in her free time, which is spent primarily with friends and family.
Kailyn has logged numerous hours volunteering at the Wild Beast Feast, Bell Elementary School Fall Festival, Gilchrist County Chamber of Commerce Banquet, Criminal Justice Road Clean up and Teen Court.
Over the last three years, Kailyn has competed at the Florida Public Service Association State Competition, winning first in events such as Parliamentary Procedure, Theme, and Community Service Project.
In the fall, Kailyn plans to enter the University of Florida where she will major in International Studies.
