Christian Comedy Night Friday at Trenton Depot
By Carrie A. Mizell
Bring the lawn chairs to the historic train depot in Trenton on Friday, May 15 for a Christian Comedy Night sponsored by Gilchrist County’s own Gospel group, The Reflectsons.
A group of entertainers, including the Jeff Treece Band of Knoxville, Tennessee, and David and Rusty of Baconton, Georgia, will be performing at the free event which will offer fun for the entire family, beginning at 7 p.m.
According to Trenton Mayor Glen Thigpen, who is also a member of The Reflectsons, the Jeff Treece Band is known as the Ray Stevens of Gospel music, so Friday night’s audience can expect laughter to abound once the group takes the stage.
“Many promoters compare Jeff Treece Band to Ray Stevens and Jerry Reed mixed with a little Jeff Foxworthy,” Thigpen said.
Jeff Treece Band started in 1999. Since their debut, the group has had 10 number one songs, along with winning numerous awards. David and Rusty is a Gospel vetriloquist team featuring David Mac Meeken and his small witty wooden partner Rusty.
“Bring your family, bring your friends, bring your church group … you can even bring your in-laws!” Thigpen said. “Make plans now to attend this hilarious evening of fun for the whole family.”
Snacks such as hot dogs, nachos and soft drinks will be available for purchase. For more information, call 463-0312 or 463-2481.
