Restaurant to open in Boarding House

By Carrie A. Mizell

The Olde Boarding House restaurant was purchased last week by a Trenton couple who intend to once again open a restaurant in the historic structure on NW 1st Street.

Glenn and Rebecca Gavitt purchased the restaurant last Thursday, Mar. 24 for $50,000 from Regions Bank. The property was in foreclosure before the local couple, who own several restaurants in the area including Chompers Drive-Thru in Fanning Springs, purchased it.
Details on when the new sit-down style restaurant will open were not available at press time, though Paul Troke of Troke Realty said the Gavitts intend to open the restaurant in a style similar to the Olde Boarding House.
The Olde Boarding House was most recently an Italian restaurant owned and operated by the Petrello family.
