Annual Walk-A-Thon will be Feb. 6

Lace up those walking shoes! The Gilchrist County Education Foundation’s “Stepping Forward for Education” Walk-A-Thon will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m.
Registration for the Walk-A-Thon will begin at 9 a.m. on the lawn of the Gilchrist County Courthouse. Opening ceremonies will follow at 9:45 a.m.
Participants can walk, run, wheelchair, skate, roller blade, or push a stroller along the two-mile course, which runs through downtown Trenton.
Last year’s event raised $10,610.
Currently, there is a combined 165 seniors at Trenton High School and Bell High School.
According to Tiffany Turner, of the Gilchrist County Education Foundation, if every senior applied and qualified for a scholarship, the Foundation would need to raise $165,000 between the Walk-A-Thon and the Beast Feast.
