Trenton High School senior Caleb Smith has been nominated by Rep. Cliff Stearns for West Point military academy.
“One of my major responsibilities is nominating outstanding young men and women to the nation’s service academies,” Rep. Cliff Stearns said. “So many excellent candidates apply for these very limited openings and those who are finally accepted represent the nation’s best. I wish these nominees every success in securing a position in these prestigious academies.”
Rep. Stearns praised his leadership and scholastic qualities.
Nominations to the Service Academies are extremely competitive. After receiving a nomination to a specific Academy, applicants will then be required to pass further examinations and screening to be offered an appointment. Competitive alternates could gain acceptance at the specified Academy subject to further screening by the Academy, and for that reason these alternative nominees should be proud of their selection as a competitive alternate.
Caleb is the son of Shannon and Christine Smith of Trenton.
