Schultz announces candidacy for Sheriff

Bobby Schultz, a 20-year veteran of law enforcement and working investigations within the judicial system, has announced his candidacy for Gilchrist County Sheriff.
Mr. Schultz cites the need for a higher level of professionalism, accountability, consistency, and fiscal responsibility as the motivation for his candidacy.
Schultz is a graduate of Bell High School and is state certified in both Law Enforcement and Corrections. He has held many diverse positions in his career, including communications officer, corrections officer, patrol officer, evidence/crime scene supervisor and investigations sergeant. He has also served as an investigator for the both the State Attorney’s Office and the Public Defender’s Office, serving in Gilchrist County. Mr. Schultz served as a police advisor under the direction of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Division of the State Department of the United States. As such, he was embedded with U.S. Army Police Mentoring Teams, where he trained and mentored members of the Afghan National Police in remote areas of Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.
Schultz has approximately two thousand hours of law enforcement training, including with the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the U. S. Customs Service and the U. S. Army in the area of narcotics investigations. He has proven experience with all types of investigations, including narcotics, death investigations, property crimes, persons crimes, financial and agriculture crimes, crimes against children and numerous others.
Schultz feels that his varied experience in law enforcement and with the judicial system makes him uniquely qualified to be the next Sheriff of Gilchrist County. “The people of Gilchrist County helped to instill in me strong moral values and a desire to serve which has made me the person that I am today. The time has come for me to give something back and serve them.”
