Crosby will start at $75,000 salary

The Gilchrist County Commissioners took action to officially hire Bobby Crosby on Tuesday after all parties agreed to a $75,000 annual salary and no severance package.
Crosby had asked for an annual salary of $78,000 and a 16-week severance package.
“I will accept it because the group I stand before, I have a lot of confidence in,” Crosby said of the county commissioners.
In an initial meeting with Tommy Langford, Joe Gilliam and John McPherson, Crosby was presented with a draft contract that reflected a starting salary of $75,000 and no severance package.
According to McPherson, Crosby considered that during the negotiation before suggesting $78,000 and a 16-week severance package.
“This request by Mr. Crosby did not seem unreasonable,” McPherson said in presenting a draft contract to the county commissioners for their consideration on Tuesday.
